New York, N.Y. – League of Conservation Voters State Policy Director Bill Holland released the following statement on a new report showing that the U.S. Climate Alliance is on track to meet and potentially exceed its portion of the United States’ commitment under the Paris Climate Agreement:

“With more and more communities experiencing the effects of climate change firsthand, mayors and governors know we can’t let the Trump administration’s inaction stand in our way. The U.S. Climate Alliance is making real progress toward reducing carbon pollution and building our clean energy future – just look at Colorado, where the state’s largest utility announced a major pivot toward renewables just weeks after Gov. John Hickenlooper signed onto the Alliance. And with more state leaders like North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper joining, it’s clear communities nationwide have momentum to invest in local clean energy projects that replace harmful pollution.

“President Trump can keep attacking climate action, but he can’t stop local innovation from continuing our progress.”
