Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Senator Ron Wyden, Representatives Suzanne Bonamici, Val Hoyle, and Andrea Salinas on their wins in Oregon.

“This year, Oregon was a bellwether for the country and voters said loud and clear that we need climate leadership,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “With Senator Wyden coming back to Congress as one of the strongest champions in the Senate, climate action will remain a top priority for Oregonians.”

LCV Victory Fund invested $150,000 on TV and digitals ads (ex. “Enough Talk,”) to support Rep. Val Hoyle (OR-04) and $540,000 total between the primary and general supporting Andrea Salinas (OR-06) on digital.

LCV’s GreenRoots member mobilization program turned out LCV members to volunteer for the Wyden and Salinas campaigns as part of a nationwide field program to help elect environmental champions that engaged 8,250 total LCV members.

Environmental donors contributed $2.3 million to Oregon candidates via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised a midterm record $26.9 million for the 2022 cycle.

Oregon League of Conservation Voters also congratulated Governor-elect Tina Kotek. OLCV and OLCV PAC invested over $1.5 million supporting Tina Kotek’s campaign, their largest-ever investment in a single race. Both Kotek’s opponents Betsy Johnson & Christine Drazan were named to the 2022 Dirty Dozen in the States

These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in Oregon demonstrating that leaning into environmental issues is both good policy and good politics.
