Washington, D.C. – In response to the new Rhodium Group report on clean energy tax credits and the Biden Administration’s climate and clean energy announcements and events this week, including Wednesday’s utility CEO roundtable and Thursday’s $5 billion electric vehicle charging station announcement, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from Matthew Davis, LCV Senior Director of Government Affairs:

“Between the new Rhodium Group report, utility CEOs advocating for clean energy at the White House, and the announcement of $5 billion in funding from DOT and DOE for electric vehicle charging stations, events this week have reinforced once again that investing in climate and clean energy is cost-effective, popular with business leaders, and possible. We’re thrilled to see this continued all-of-government approach to combating the climate crisis from the Biden Administration and we expect the President and Congress to take utility CEOs’ message to heart and take swift action on the most comprehensive version of the Build Back Better Act that can pass as soon as possible. Enacting the overwhelmingly popular climate and clean energy provisions in the bill will save people $500 a year on their energy bills, help cut climate pollution in half by 2030, invest directly in communities of color too often left behind, and create good-paying union jobs. Action on climate and environmental justice is good policy, good politics, and passing the Build Back Better agenda is one of the best ways to help families deal with higher costs. It is past time to get the job done.”
