WASHINGTON, DC-In response to today’s Senate vote of 51 to 47 to confirm John Bush to a seat on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, League of Conservation Voters’ Judiciary Program Director Desiree Tims released the following statement:

“Today, Senate Republicans chose party over values by confirming John K. Bush. Mr. Bush has a proven track record of intemperate remarks and intolerant views that clearly demonstrates his inability to serve as an impartial judge. We are deeply disappointed by the Senate’s confirmation of Mr. Bush, and we will hold senators accountable for siding with special interests that threaten crucial environmental safeguards.”

In a letter sent today, LCV, the Center for Biological Diversity and the Sierra Club urged the Senate to reject Bush’s nomination as well as the nomination of Damien Schiff to the U.S. Court of Federal Appeals.
