Washington, D.C. – Today, LCV Victory Fund launched a new ad supporting Summer Lee, candidate for PA-12. The new video ad supporting Summer Lee highlights her experience organizing for working families and fighting against corporate polluters. It will run on digital platforms across the district through the May 17th primary.
Our new ad in PA-12: It’s time to send Summer to Washington
LCV Victory Fund’s announced the PA-12 investment Thursday alongside three other independent expenditures supporting pro-environment, non-incumbent, women of color running for U.S. House seats in competitive primaries: Donna Edwards, candidate for MD-04; Andrea Salinas, candidate for OR-06; and Jessica Cisneros, candidate for TX-28. LCV Victory Fund has rarely run campaigns in federal primaries, happening only a handful of times.
“We’re getting involved in these primaries because electing more pro-environment women of color is good for people and the planet – we desperately need Congress to be more representative of the electorate,” said Megan Jacobs, LCV Victory Fund Senior National Campaigns Director. “With increasing climate-fueled extreme weather events and rising energy prices, it is more important than ever to send strong climate leaders to Congress who support investing in clean energy, advancing environmental justice, and lowering costs for families.”
Lee, Cisneros, Edward, and Salinas were all endorsed by LCV Action Fund earlier this year.
