LCV believes our earth is worth fighting for because everyone has a right to clean air, water, and a safe, healthy community. To ensure those rights are protected, we help people use their power to shape policy, hold politicians and polluters accountable, and influence elections.
For more than 50 years, LCV has grown into a potent political force for protecting our planet and everyone who inhabits it. We have built a powerful national movement with 30 state affiliates, and grassroots and community organizing programs across the country.
LCV is seeking a Campaigns Intern who will support the Youth Digital Campaigns Manager and other members of the Campaigns team in creating digital content, planning virtual events, and devising strategies to activate and mobilize LCV’s volunteer base, especially youth activists. The Campaigns department directs LCV’s federal electoral and issue advocacy campaign efforts. The Campaigns Internship provides a comprehensive understanding of all elements involved in running large-scale climate organizing programs across the country and how to build a powerful activist base that advocates for environmental justice and democracy.
Special projects include planning and supporting a national virtual volunteer event, drafting written materials for organizing efforts including scripts and issue talking points, researching strategies for converting LCV members into active volunteers and moving them up the ladder of engagement, bolstering LCV’s presence and credibility in Youth Climate Movements by working with partners and creating content that appeals to younger audiences, and more. The Campaigns Intern will join a Spring 2024 internship cohort that will have access to development opportunities including a Capstone project, informational interviews with staff, and organization-wide training and discussions.
LCV offers sick leave, paid holidays, and voting leave to interns.
