LCV believes our earth is worth fighting for because everyone has a right to clean air, water, and a safe, healthy community. To ensure those rights are protected, we help people use their power to shape policy, hold politicians and polluters accountable, and influence elections.

For more than 50 years, LCV has grown into a potent political force for protecting our planet and everyone who inhabits it. We have built a powerful national movement with 30 state affiliates, and grassroots and community organizing programs across the country.

The Donor Engagement and Events Intern will play a significant supporting role in executing all of the development team’s events over the course of this internship. LCV’s largest events of the year, the Climate Victory Council Summit and the Capital Dinner, occur in mid-June and will be a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the planning and execution of large-scale fundraising events.

Additionally, the Donor Engagement and Events Intern will learn how to engage top donors and board members via email communication, in-person stewardship, and guest experience at fundraising events. There will also be opportunities to work with other members of the development team and gain experience with donor and prospect research, database management, and event management software.

LCV is seeking a Donor Engagement and Events Intern who will support the Donor Engagement and Events Coordinator in planning and executing large- and small-scale fundraising events, managing gifts and sponsorships associated with these events, managing VIP speakers, and working with our vendors to ensure the best donor experience possible. Special projects include assisting with the annual Climate Victory Council Summit and DC Capital Dinner in June.

The Donor Engagement and Events Intern will join a Summer 2023 internship cohort that will have access to development opportunities including a Capstone project, informational interviews with staff, and organization-wide training and discussions.
