Chrissy Houlahan has demonstrated a commitment to environmental protections and sustainability throughout her career.
As former engineer and the COO of a non-profit that advocates for B Corporations, she has a fundamental understanding of the importance of building corporations and an economy that is committed to sustainability and to protecting our environment. Previously, she served as President for a nonprofit in Philadelphia that promoted early childhood literacy across the country. She has also worked as a chemistry teacher. She is an outspoken opponent of the Trump Administration’s denials of climate change, and its decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.
As a representative, Houlahan will continue to advocate for environmental protections and fight again climate change.
Houlan joins the U.S. House to fill the seat of retiring Representative Ryan Costello, who earned a 31% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
In her own words:
“As one of the original team that created B Corporations (Benefit Corporations), I know the importance of building businesses, a supportive government and a larger economy that honors our environment and that encourages sustainable practices. In Congress, I will be a champion for our environment and will work to combat the threat of climate change and the assault on truth and data.”
