Harley Rouda is committed to clean energy and public lands.
Rouda is an attorney and entrepreneur who grew his family’s real estate business into one of the largest firms in the country. Previously he worked with an app that helped its users to resell unused items and reduce landfill. He also worked with a company that created portable water filters. He has been outspoken in his criticism against the Trump Administration’s denials of climate change.
As a representative, Rouda is committed to opposing offshore drilling and to promoting clean energy technology.
Rouda joins the U.S. House after defeating Representative Dana Rohrabacher, who was named to LCV’s House Dirty Dozen and earned a 10% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
In his own words:
“The 48th Congressional District is one of the most remarkable places to live in the world. However, as Republican leaders in Washington continue to deny the threat of man-made climate change, the pristine natural beauty which makes our home district so special is under attack. I will work to protect California’s most precious asset, our beautiful coastlines, from offshore drilling. We need to focus on consistently choosing clean energy over the fossil fuels of the past.”
