A Green Legacy

Celebrating President Obama’s Environmental Accomplishments

Over the last eight years under President Barack Obama’s extraordinary leadership, our nation and the global community have taken historic strides to address one of the greatest threats facing our world – the climate crisis – and to protect our air, water, land and wildlife while growing a sustainable clean energy economy that works for all. Under President Obama, our nation has made aggressive reductions to carbon pollution, moved to address other climate pollutants like methane and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), invested more in clean energy than ever before, protected more public lands and waters than any president, and protected more endangered species than any previous administration.

In honor of the final 10 days of President Obama’s historic administration, each day we will be highlighting top accomplishments in 10 different environmental and climate policy areas each day. Please visit every day between now and January 20th as we unveil another area in which President Obama has helped make incredible progress as we work towards a sustainable, equitable future.
