Washington, D.C.– Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) launched ads in 22 congressional districts thanking members of congress for introducing the Energy Bills Relief Act and leading the charge to lower energy costs.
The digital ads will thank Representatives Mike Levin (CA-49) and Sean Casten (IL-06) for leading the bill and Representatives Doris Matsui (CA-07), George Whitesides (CA-27), Derek Tran (CA-45), Dave Min (CA-47), Joe Neguse (CO-02), Brittany Pettersen (CO-07), Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), Mike Quigley (IL-05), Jim McGovern (MA-02), Debbie Dingell (MI-06), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Gabe Vasquez (NM-02), Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Tom Suozzi (NY-03), Paul Tonko (NY-20), Joseph Morelle (NY-25), Greg Landsman (OH-01), Janelle Bynum (OR-05), and Madeleine Dean (PA-04) for co-sponsoring the bill.
“Congressional Democrats are stepping up to provide relief from skyrocketing energy costs for hardworking families,” said Sara Chieffo, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “These members of Congress are meeting people where they are by prioritizing affordable, clean energy solutions. Extreme congressional Republicans who have followed the lead of President Trump and prioritized polluters over people, should reverse course and join these members of Congress to boost support for families and for clean energy solutions that helps lower costs and protect communities.”
These ads come following 122 members of the U.S. House of Representatives introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act (H.R. 7197), which will help to lower costs for hardworking families across the country by providing immediate relief, making data centers pay their fair share, and ensuring access to clean, affordable energy amid rising energy demand. Under the Trump Administration energy bills have already increased by 13%, yet President Trump and Congressional Republicans have continued to do the bidding of Big Oil and Big Polluters. The ads encourage constituents to contact their members of Congress and thank them for supporting the Energy Bills Relief Act.
