Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Betty McCollum for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District.

“Representative Betty McCollum has helped lead the fight to advance efforts to protect our environment, address the climate crisis and ensure all Minnesotans have access to clean water, clean air and our public lands,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support her for reelection because we know she will continue to stand up to big polluters, champion the health of our environment and our democracy, and push for the transformational investments we need in clean energy, conservation, justice, and jobs.”

“Representative Betty McCollum has been a strong protector of Minnesota’s environment and clean energy advocate throughout her career and we know she will continue to prioritize our climate, health, and communities in Washington,” said Conservation Minnesota Voter Center Executive Director Paul Austin. “We look forward to continuing to work with Rep. McCollum as we fight for a healthier, greener, and more equitable Minnesota.”

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of LCV Action Fund because we share a common commitment to protect the environment, combat climate change, and work to preserve our air, water, and wild lands for future generations,” said Rep. Betty McCollum. “Together, we are committing to a green economy and a healthier planet.”

Representative Betty McCollum was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000. Rep. McCollum is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, where she is the Vice Chair of the Interior-Environment Subcommittee. She is a strong supporter of climate investments in clean energy, justice, and jobs and is a strong advocate for protecting our democracy. As Vice Chair of the Interior-Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, Rep. McCollum supports full funding for environmental protections, including helping to lead the effort to permanently and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), and opposes efforts to weaken clean air, clean water, and conservation laws. Last November, she was a member of the delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conference. She has cosponsored the For the People Act (H.R. 1), the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4), the Washington, D.C. Admission Act (H.R. 51), and the Protecting Our Democracy Act. Rep. McCollum earned a 100% on LCV’s 2021 National Environmental Scorecard.
