Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Representative David Cicilline for re- election to the U.S. House representing Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District.

“Representative David Cicilline is a steadfast leader who has proven his commitment to fighting for people and our environment over corporate polluters and their profits,”  said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are excited to support his campaign and work with him to ensure all communities in Rhode Island and beyond have a healthy environment, a just and equitable democracy, and good paying jobs. The Ocean State is the proud home to so much natural beauty but also one of the most vulnerable states to climate change. We need more people like Representative Cicilline in Congress fighting for a healthier, greener, and more equitable future for all.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund,” said David Cicilline. “The natural treasures that make Rhode Island such a special place to call home require steadfast stewardship. I understand the importance of this responsibility and have worked hard in Congress to defend our environment and advance the development of renewable energy technology. I am fighting to address climate change and the undeniable science that tells us carbon pollution is threatening the health of our environment and the public. I know that to protect Rhode Island’s air, water, and other natural resources today and years into the future, we need to end our reliance on fossil fuels that pollute and degrade our ecosystem. I am thankful for the endorsement of the LCV Action Fund as I seek reelection. LCV is a leading environmental organization, building power for people and the planet.”
