Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Al Lawson for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Representative Al Lawson has always prioritized the health of Northern Florida’s communities and environment,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “He is a longtime advocate for an equitable expansion of our clean energy economy and investing in clean water infrastructure. We are proud to support Representative Lawson for re-election because he has dedicated his life to serving the people of Florida and is an important partner in our work to address climate change, create jobs and protect public health.”

“Throughout his time in the Florida Legislature and now in Congress, Representative Al Lawson has been an important partner in our work to protect Florida’s beautiful waterways and natural lands,” said Florida Conservation Voters Legislative & Political Director Jonathan Webber. “Representative Lawson has fought for Floridians every step of the way and always prioritizes the health of our communities over polluters and Big Oil. From fighting to ban offshore drilling and cleaning up Superfund sites to demanding just action on the climate, Representative Lawson’s endorsement by LCV Action Fund will help ensure that we continue this important work together in Congress.”

“Throughout my time in public service, I have understood the importance of the environment to North Florida,” said Representative Al Lawson. “In the Florida Legislature, I passed the landmark Florida Forever legislation and continue today to fight for our environment in Congress. Our beaches, waterways, and natural resources are a significant driver for the North Florida economy but also vital to our quality of life. I grew up in North Florida. I have fished in these waters and hunted in these woods. I am proud to have the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and look forward to continuing our work together to protect North Florida.”
