Washington, DC- The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today its endorsement of Barbara Bollier for election to the U.S. Senate in Kansas.

“Kansans are living the impacts of the climate crisis, and they deserve a Senator who will take action and work to ensure that climate solutions are centered on sound science,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “That’s why LCV Action Fund is excited to endorse Dr. Barbara Bollier. As a doctor, Bollier understands just how important access to clean air, safe drinking water, and a safe climate is for the health of families in Kansas and across the nation. Now more than ever, Kansans need a leader like Dr. Bollier in the Senate who will put their health and Kansas’s clean energy economy first.”

“As a doctor, I always look at the facts, listen to those impacted by the problem and collaborate on a solution. Our climate deserves nothing less,” said Dr. Barbara Bollier. “Climate change and extreme weather are some of the most significant challenges facing Kansas’ farmers and ranchers, as well as our children and grandchildren. I’m pleased to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund in my campaign to bring reason and science back to Washington.”

Barbara Bollier is a lifelong Kansan who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Bollier has long been a strong supporter of Kansas’s wind energy economy. During her time in the state legislature, she voted six times in favor of maintaining Kansas’s renewable energy standard when some anti-environmental members pushed to repeal it, in favor of energy efficiency programs, and against regulatory rollbacks for limits on mercury pollution.

Bollier is committed to acting on the climate crisis and investing in Kansas’s clean energy economy as a U.S. Senator. Bollier is running to fill the seat that will be vacated by retiring Senator Pat Roberts, who has an abysmal 8% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
