Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Ben McAdams for Congress in Utah’s 4th District.

“Ben McAdams is committed to ensuring that every Utahn has clean air to breath and clean water to drink,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “He has a proven record of standing up for Utah’s growing outdoor tourism industry and working to reduce pollution. We know he will be a strong ally in Congress, and we are proud to endorse his campaign.”

“I am proud to have the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund endorsement,” said Ben McAdams. “Utahns value the beauty and open spaces of our state. They also know that we cannot take our environment for granted and that we have to work in a bipartisan fashion to ensure that what we enjoy now is available to future generations.”

Ben McAdams is a seventh generation Utahn who, after serving in the state senate, was elected Mayor of Salt Lake County in 2012 and won a second term in 2016. As mayor, he has worked with stakeholders to protect drinking water quality, supported the construction of energy efficient buildings, and worked on infrastructure and public transit plans designed to reduce carbon pollution. He is strongly supportive of Utah’s multi billion dollar outdoor economy and was instrumental in the development of the Mountain Accord that brought together many different parties to manage the future of the Wasatch Mountains. In Congress, McAdams will defend Utah’s treasured public lands, advocate for clean air and water protections, and support solutions to address climate change.
