Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Bonnie Watson Coleman for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives from New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District.

“Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman is a strong defender of the environment and ally in the fight for clean air and clean water to keep New Jersey families safe and healthy,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “She is working hard in Congress to implement just and equitable solutions to the climate crisis and we are thrilled to support her for re-election.”

“We are proud of Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman’s environmental record and pleased she earned the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said  Executive Director of the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Ed Potosnak. “Every day she fights to protect our earth and safeguard the health of all our families and businesses and we hope to see her continue this important work in Congress.”

“There is nothing more precious than our environment — it is the air we breathe and the water we drink — and we must fight to protect it,” said Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman. “In Congress, I have worked to defend the Clean Water Act, preserve our public lands, and combat the threat of climate change. I am proud to have the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund as we continue together in this fight.”

Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman was first elected to Congress in 2014. She is a member of the Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition (SEEC). She is a co-sponsor of the Green New Deal and recently introduced the Protecting Our Conserved Lands Act, which prevents the use of eminent domain to seize conserved land to construct natural gas pipelines. Representative Watson Coleman previously served in the New Jersey State Assembly. She has earned an impressive 97% lifetime score and 100% on LCV’s 2019 National Environmental Scorecard
