Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Carolyn Bourdeaux for election to the U.S. House from Georgia’s 7th Congressional District.

“Carolyn Bourdeaux has had a long career prioritizing the needs of communities and we know she will continue this charge in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund SVP of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support her election because she is committed to taking immediate action on the climate crisis and creating green jobs to boost our green economy.”

“Georgians deserve a leader who will fight for our clean air, water, and energy in Washington,” said Georgia Conservation Voters Executive Director Brionté McCorkle. “Carolyn Bourdeaux will fight to protect the health and safety of Georgia families in Congress.”

“As the mom of an 8 year old I know how urgent it is to protect our environment,” said Carolyn Bourdeaux. “In Congress I’ll fight to invest in clean energy jobs and technologies to work to eliminate the influence of big polluters and corporate special interests. I’m proud to receive the endorsement from the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund to protect our air, water, and land for future generations.”

Carolyn Bourdeaux received a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University, a Master’s in Public Administration from University of Southern California, and a PhD from Syracuse University. She worked for four years as an aide to Ron Wyden, first in the House of Representatives, then in the Senate. While working for Senator Wyden she focused on transportation issues and worked on a project that was a precursor to the Livable Communities Project. Bourdeaux moved to Georgia with her family and became a professor at the Andrew Young School of Public Policy at Georgia State University in 2003. From 2007 to 2010, she took a leave of absence to serve as the Director of Georgia’s Senate Budget and Evaluation Office. After returning to Georgia State University, she founded the Center for State and Local Finance.

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 90 U.S. Senators and 450 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
