LCV Action Fund Endorses Colin Allred for Congress

Jun 27, 2018

Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Colin Allred for Congress in Texas’ 32nd District.

“Colin Allred is a champion for voting rights and the environment,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “His experience as a civil rights attorney is needed in Congress now more than ever given the scale of attacks being waged on our democracy. Allred is committed to fighting special interests, empowering his constituents and building an equitable, clean energy economy. We know he will be a strong ally in Congress and we are thrilled to endorse his campaign.”

“Texas is a state rich with natural resources and breathtaking scenic views,” said Colin Allred. “But with this richness comes a responsibility to be good stewards of the land we have been blessed with. We need to elect leaders who understand the economic and environmental impacts of responsible energy policies that not only put Texans to work, but conserve the natural beauty of our great state. In Congress, I will not take this responsibility lightly and I will look forward to working with partners like the League of Conservation Voters to make certain the beauty of Texas is preserved for generations to come.”

Colin Allred was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He played for the Tennessee Titans for almost five seasons before working as a Special Assistant at the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of General Counsel during the Obama administration. He later worked at the law firm of Perkins Coie as a voting rights litigator and counsel to national and state political candidates and advocacy organizations. In Congress, Allred will work to reduce carbon pollution by helping Texas meet its tremendous clean energy potential and supporting investments in public transportation.
