Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Sharice Davids for Congress in Kansas’ 3rd District.

“Sharice Davids is committed to expanding wind power to generate clean energy and new jobs in Kansas,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Davids is a fighter who knows what it takes to keep our air and water clean for Kansas families. We look forward to her leadership in Congress and are proud to support her historic campaign”

“Protecting our environment and natural resources is necessary for both our planet and our economy,” said Sharice Davids. “In Kansas, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on renewable energy to create good-paying jobs while growing our clean energy economy. The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund works to make that possible and I’m proud to have their support.”

Sharice Davids graduated from Johnson Community College and earned her law degree from Cornell Law School. After law school she worked with Native American tribes on economic development and was a White House Fellow. In Congress she will focus on investment in clean energy infrastructure and protecting our air and water. Davids is a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, and if elected, she will be the first LGBTQ Native American woman in Congress.
