Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of U.S. Representative Tim Ryan for election to the U.S. Senate representing Ohio.
“Congressman Tim Ryan has a long record supporting clean energy, climate action, and fighting to protect our water, public lands, and democracy and we are proud to support his campaign for the U.S. Senate,” said LCV Action Fund Vice President of Political Affairs Craig Auster. “We know that as Ohio’s next senator, Ryan will continue to work hard for communities in every single corner of the Buckeye State and build Ohio’s clean energy economy by empowering workers in this transition with the creation of good-paying jobs.”
“Congressman Tim Ryan has been a steadfast champion for the environment in Washington and has worked to ensure Ohio becomes an electric vehicle powerhouse. We know Rep. Ryan will be a Senator who fights for clean energy union jobs in every community across our state while promoting environmental justice,” said Trish Demeter, Interim President of the Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund PAC.
“I’m thrilled to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund, and look forward to continuing to work together to protect our natural resources and invest in our clean energy economy,” said Congressman Tim Ryan. “I’m proud to have worked to protect Ohioans’ access to clean air and water, from the shores of Lake Erie to the foothills of Appalachia. And as we feel the effects of climate change across our state, I’ll keep working to ensure that Ohio is a key player in the clean energy economy by revitalizing manufacturing and creating new jobs right here at home. As Senator, I’ll never stop working to make sure our efforts to combat climate change and protect our natural resources result in investments and opportunities for all of Ohio.”
Representative Tim Ryan has represented Ohio’s 13th congressional district since 2013. Throughout his two decades in Congress, Rep. Ryan has been a strong ally on environmental issues, earning a 91 percent lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard and perfect 100 percent scores seven times, including in 2020 and 2021. In addition to his consistent support for climate action, investing in clean energy, protecting our water, public lands and wildlife, Ryan has led efforts to invest in domestic battery and solar panel manufacturing and to protect the Great Lakes.
