Washington, D.C. — In response to the announcement of the details of the Electric Vehicles (EV) Freedom Act by Representatives Andy Levin (MI-09) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from Legislative Representative Darien Davis:

“In the absence of leadership on clean energy from the Trump administration, Congressman Andy Levin and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s EV Freedom Act is the kind of climate solution we need to curb carbon pollution, create good paying clean energy jobs in the auto industry, and make electric vehicles more accessible to all. We applaud these representatives for taking on the leading source of carbon pollution, the transportation sector, and putting forth a proposal that will directly benefit the low-income communities and communities of color most impacted by the climate crisis and toxic pollution.”
