Washington, D.C. – League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski released the following statement on the Republican tax bill:

“The Republican tax package is nothing more than a tax cut for millionaires, billionaires, and corporations at the expense of the rest of us. This giveaway to the wealthy would balloon the deficit and result in less funding to protect public health and our air, water, lands and wildlife. They’re even trying to sneak in a polar payout to Alaska and Big Oil that would open up America’s most iconic wild place, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, to drilling. We need Congress to stand up for our communities and oppose this win-win for polluters.”
