Seattle, Washington — LCV Victory Fund today announced a $1 million TV ad in Washington’s 8th congressional district. The ad, which will run on Seattle broadcast and cable through Election Day, reminds voters of Dino Rossi’s record of siding against his constituents’ health and safety in favor of special interests.

The ad comes a week after Rossi’s misleading attempt to exaggerate past recognition from the League of Conservation Voters’ state affiliate, Washington Conservation Voters, when asked about environmental issues in a debate.

“Dino Rossi wants everyone to forget his anti-environmental record, but we’re working hard to remind voters that Rossi hasn’t stood with them,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund Senior Vice President for Campaigns. “No amount of greenwashing can erase Rossi’s votes to support corporate polluters instead of the health and safety of Washington families.”

“We value our clean air, clean water and public lands here in Washington,” said Shannon Murphy, President of Washington Conservation Voters. “Dino Rossi simply doesn’t have a pro-conservation record, and no amount of political spin will change that. Voters need to know where Rossi really stands.”

During his time in the state legislature, Rossi earned a Washington Conservation Voters’ lifetime score of 31 percent — which plummeted to zero in 2017. That means that last year alone Rossi voted to undermine renewable energy laws, weaken toxic cleanup protections, bypass environmental protections and more.
