Richmond, Virginia – LCV Victory Fund today launched a $327,000 TV ad against Congressman David Brat in Virginia’s 7th congressional district. The ad, which will be on air tomorrow and run for two weeks, shows voters how Brat has stood with special interests and corporate polluters over Virginians’ health.

“David Brat has voted for all but one of Congress’ environmental attacks since Trump took office. That’s a staggering 59 votes to axe protections for clean air and water, block efforts to fight climate change, and open up more drilling on our public lands,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund Senior Vice President for Campaigns. “But David Brat didn’t just vote for dirtier air that’d make people sicker — he also voted to gut protections for preexisting conditions, so Virginians would lose their health insurance when they need it most.”

Brat has a 1 percent lifetime environmental voting record on LCV’s scorecard.
