Washington, D.C. — The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund and the United Steelworkers (USW Works) today announced that through the joint New American Jobs Fund, they will be expanding their efforts to mobilize voters with an additional $2.8 million investment that will add a Florida turnout field program and expand turnout efforts in Arizona, Ohio and Montana.

“Re-electing Senators Brown in Ohio, Nelson in Florida, and Tester in Montana, along with electing for the first time Senate candidates Jacky Rosen in Nevada and Kyrsten Sinema in Arizona, could decide who controls the chamber — politicians beholden to their corporate patrons, or leaders who share our pro-jobs, pro-environment values,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund Senior Vice President for Campaigns. “We’ve already knocked on 800,000 doors talking about a future that works for everyone, and in the final weeks we’ll hit over 600,000 more, encouraging everyone to get out and vote by November 6th.”

“Both our organizations have long histories of mobilizing voters to take action and to show up at the polls on Election Day,” said Tim Waters, the United Steelworkers National Political Director. “With our combined strength and our determined focus on direct voter contact, we plan to bring proven leaders like Rosen and Sinema to the Senate, while keeping Brown, Nelson and Tester fighting for working families so we can get to work building the clean energy economy America deserves.”

Earlier this year the New American Jobs Fund announced an initial $3.1 million investment in four Senate races, focused on large-scale voter persuasion and turnout field programs. With the Florida addition, the Jobs Fund is now active in five states.

The expanded turnout programs will include:

• Reelecting Bill Nelson in Florida: Turnout canvass program in the Tampa Bay area will reach 116,000 voters.
• Electing Kyrsten Sinema in Arizona: Turnout canvass programs will reach nearly 184,000 voters in the Phoenix metro area, Tucson and the surrounding Pima County.
• Reelecting Sherrod Brown in Ohio: Turnout canvass programs will reach 23,000 voters in Cincinnati and surrounding Hamilton County.
• Reelecting Jon Tester in Montana: Turnout canvass program will be expanded to Billings, in addition to existing programs in Missoula and Bozeman, and will reach 34,000 voters.
