Washington, DC: Today, the New American Jobs Fund (Jobs Fund) is announcing the launch of an over $1.5 million persuasion mail program in the North Carolina, Nevada, and Pennsylvania Senate races. The program will consist of two flights of mail targeting 1.2 million households across the three states, mobilizing voters to turn out for Deborah Ross, Catherine Cortez Masto and Katie McGinty.

“Our combined efforts in these close races may determine control of the Senate through the sustained communications we’ve had with tens of thousands of voters,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “We’re proud to partner with the United Steelworkers and fight for America’s middle class by supporting candidates that will combat climate change and create quality jobs by investing in building a clean energy economy.”

“The New American Jobs Fund has jumped into these key Senate races in battleground states because we recognize that a jobs message is a winning message in these close races,” said United Steelworkers International President Leo W. Gerard. “Backing up our massive canvass program with mail and phones makes sure we get our message to voters at this critical time.  It is critical that voters understand the key differences in the candidates when it comes to jobs and our economy.  We are convinced when all of the dust settles, voters will decide their choice based on this message.”

In September, League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund and United Steelworkers (USW) Works announced the creation of the Jobs Fund, a new super PAC bringing together conservationists and labor to invest in critical Senate races across the country and elect a pro-conservation and pro-jobs Senate majority. The Jobs Fund announced an initial investment of $4 million in persuasion canvass operations in their targeted races.
