Stelson

Janelle Stelson is a decorated television journalist who was inspired to run for office to protect our democracy and advance solutions to climate change.

After graduating from the University of Puget Sound, Stelson spent nearly four decades as a journalist in Pennsylvania, including 26 years as an anchor for the Harrisburg media market’s highest-rated news show. During this time, Stelson’s award-winning, nonpartisan approach to get to the bottom of issues gained her the trust and confidence of her fellow Pennsylvanians and a reputation as someone who will listen and fight for the things they care about. She believes the federal government must address climate change and its impacts, particularly on rural areas, codify a woman’s right to reproductive healthcare, and tackle gun violence.

As a representative, Stelson will fight to protect our democracy and advance a commonsense approach to addressing climate change centered on justice and equity.

Stelson joins the U.S. House after defeating former Representative Scott Perry, who earned a spot on LCV Victory Fund’s 2026 Dirty Dozen with a 3% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.

“Denying common sense and science will not protect our communities, our jobs, our climate and the places we love here in Central Pennsylvania.” – LCVAF Questionnaire
