John Mannion is a former teacher and state senator committed to protecting our environment, advancing bold climate solutions, and promoting clean and renewable energy.
Mannion grew up in central New York, and earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Binghamton University and a master’s in secondary science education from SUNY Oswego. For nearly three decades, Mannion served as a public school science teacher in the West Genesee and the Syracuse City school districts. He served on the Environmental Conservation Committee, where he supported programs to improve flood-management and mitigation efforts and expand clean transportation.

Mannion joins the U.S. House after defeating Representative Brandon Williams, who earned an 8% score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard in 2023.
