Troy Jackson is a lifelong public servant who has always stood up for everyday Mainers, from his time organizing labor movements to his twenty years in the Maine Legislature, where he prioritized protecting safe and healthy communities.

Jackson, a fifth generation Maine logger, quickly became involved in labor organizing, fighting against billionaire corporations and landowners to demand protections and fair wages for working families. Jackson was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2002, and after serving for three terms was elected to the Maine Senate, where he served for 14 years, with six as the Senate president. Here, he was a staunch defender of Maine’s public lands and collaborated with Indigenous leaders and communities to ensure all voices were heard in the policy process. He consistently fought against pollution and supported legislation that held corporate polluters accountable for their damage to clean air and drinking water.

As a senator, Jackson will continue to champion working families by supporting clean energy projects that will bring down energy costs while creating strong union jobs. In the state legislature, he earned an 81% lifetime score on Maine Conservation Voters’ Environmental Scorecard.

Jackson joins the U.S. Senate after defeating Senator Susan Collins, who earned a spot on LCV Victory Fund’s 2026 Dirty Dozen, with a lifetime score of 52% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.

“I’ve always believed we should leave this state and country better than we found it. That means protecting our air and water, making energy more affordable, creating good-paying jobs, and making sure the next generation can enjoy the same outdoors we grew up with.” – LCVAF Questionnaire
