Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund, NextGen America, and NRDC Action Fund PAC announced that they have together raised more than $10 million for federal and state candidates through GiveGreen. This comes after breaking the 2016 GiveGreen fundraising record in July.
“We are thrilled that momentum is building for environmental champions running for office across the country,” said Gene Karpinski, president of LCV Victory Fund. “This milestone is further evidence that a green wave is coming in 2018, and LCV Victory Fund is all in to help ensure we elect environmental leaders at all levels of government who will stand up to the Trump administration’s dangerous polluter agenda.”
“Surpassing ten million dollars is an incredible milestone in our effort to take back Congress and a testament to the commitment of Americans to make 2018 a year of progressive victories up and down the ballot,” said Tom Steyer, president of NextGen America. “With the continued support of people passionate about environmental justice and climate change, we can win seats at every level of office to fight the regressive and dishonest Trump agenda and build a more sustainable and just future for our nation.”
“Building a pro-environment majority in Congress requires that we stand up for candidates who will vote with the American people and against President Trump’s reckless agenda,” said Rhea Suh, president of the NRDC Action Fund PAC. “GiveGreen’s success in driving record support to these champions is a testament to the growing political power of the environmental community.”
