GreenRoots Canvassing Event with Candidate Shannon Taylor
LCV, NRDC Action Fund, EDF Action PAC and Sierra Club rally advocates where Republicans backed limits on local control
Washington, D.C. — Weeks before Election Day, major environmental organizations including EDF Action PAC, the League of Conservation Voters, the NRDC Action Fund, and Sierra Club hosted grassroots canvassing events across the country in support of pro-environment candidates, including events with Janelle Stelson (PA-10), Will Lawrence (MI-07), Shannon Taylor (VA-01), and Dr. Amish Shah (AZ-01).
All four Democratic candidates have committed to protecting constituents from data centers spiking their energy costs, while incumbent Republicans in PA-10, MI-07 and VA-01 voted to fast-track data center development and grant huge tax breaks in their Big Ugly Bill, and AZ-01 Republican candidate Jay Feely is a strong supporter of data center expansion.

“Grassroots organizing is the heart of this campaign and I am thrilled to have these climate groups working alongside our campaign to make sure voters know the stakes of this election for our environment,” said Congressional candidate in MI-07 Will Lawrence. “The contrast is clear: MAGA Republicans will continue to sell out our community while I will fight to stop the data centers spiking our energy costs. Voters know it is time for a change.”
“It’s been energizing to knock doors on behalf of the climate,” said Pennsylvania canvasser Diamond West. “Data centers especially come up more than any other issue at the doors, and it’s motivating to see the Democrats being on the right side of such an important topic.”
Polling shows that clean energy, environmental safeguards, and accountability for data centers are overwhelmingly supported. And voters in battleground states have made it clear: they’re concerned about rapidly rising energy costs, and they know Trump and Congressional Republicans are to blame.
