LCV Action fund has endorsed Graham Platner for U.S. Senate.
Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will fight to protect the environment, lower energy costs, build a clean energy economy, and strengthen our democracy for all, announced its endorsement of Graham Platner for U.S. Senate in Maine.
“Graham Platner understands that Congress needs to work again for regular people, and for our environment,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Sara Chieffo. “While Mainers’ energy bills and gas prices are soaring, Donald Trump and Senate Republicans are gutting clean energy and helping their corporate donors increase their profits at our expense. Graham Platner will take on Big Oil and fight for Mainers, including advocating for a national freeze on electricity rates and more investments in clean energy, which is why we support his bid for U.S. Senate.”
“Graham Platner is building a movement to shift power from elite corporate interests to working people. He will stand up to polluters, putting the protection of people and the environment ahead of corporate profits. He knows how important clean water, air, and land are to the health of Maine’s communities and economy and will fight to protect them,” said Maine Conservation Voters Executive Director Maureen Drouin.
“Like many Mainers, I work on the water, so I see the impacts of the climate crisis every day and know how critical it is to protect our natural resources,” said Graham Platner. “While Mainers work harder than ever just to get by, the corporations driving up our costs are the same ones poisoning the land and waters we depend on. Protecting our environment and our way of life go hand in hand. The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund has never backed down from this fight, and I’m proud to have their support.”
About LCV Action Fund
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
