Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will fight to lower energy costs, build a clean energy economy, and strengthen our democracy for all, announced its endorsement of Ryan Busse for U.S. House in Montana’s first Congressional District.
“Ryan Busse is the champion for our public lands and waters, affordable clean energy and climate action we need in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Sara Chieffo. “With energy bills and gas prices soaring and our public lands under unprecedented threat, Montanans need a fighter in Congress and Ryan Busse has shown time and again that he is not afraid to stand up for our shared values. He knows that clean energy is the fastest, most affordable source of energy and what we need to bring costs down for families. Montana is the Last Best Place and Ryan Busse is the strongest candidate to keep it that way–we are proud to endorse him for Congress.”
“I’m honored to receive this important endorsement from LCV Action Fund and it’s especially important given that wild places and clean energy are under attack in Montana and across the nation,” said Ryan Busse. “We must stop the destruction and get back to being proactive. I know that starts with winning elections. With LCV Action Fund’s help, I’m very excited about doing exactly that this November.”
Ryan Busse has made protecting Montana’s public lands and waters a key part of his platform, is opposed to data centers which threaten to raise Montanans’ utility bills and supports action on climate, investing in clean energy and protecting land, water, air and wildlife. He has been the board chair of Montana Conservation Voters and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, and his sons were plaintiffs in the landmark Montana youth climate lawsuit arguing the state violated their right to a clean environment.
About LCV Action Fund
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 101 U.S. Senators and 513 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
