Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund (LCV Action Fund) congratulates Representative-elect Tom Suozzi on his election to the U.S. House and victory in New York’s 3rd Congressional District special election.

“We’re thrilled Tom Suozzi is on his way back to Congress to continue tackling the climate crisis. Representative Suozzi has a proven track record of putting the people of Long Island, Queens, New York, and our country over polluters and special interests,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “LCV Action Fund congratulates him on his win tonight, and we look forward to building on our joint efforts  for our communities, clean air and water, and a clean energy future.”

LCV Victory Fund (LCVVF) invested $720,000 in New York’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House to take back the seat after being held by MAGA Republicans. The spending in the special election went to an LCVVF field program, as well as LCVVF digital and TV ads targeted at climate voters. Last weekend, LCVVF also launched a new digital ad, produced in partnership with House Majority PAC.  In total, the field programs knocked on over 91,700 doors and had conversations with over 12,600 voters. 

Environmental donors contributed over $58,000 to Suozzi’s campaign via GiveGreen, a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates. GiveGreen has so far raised $22.1 million for the 2024 cycle.
