WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Ann Callis for Congress (IL-13). Callis supports moving America towards a clean energy economy while protecting our environment and natural resources for future generations.
“Ann Callis has a strong reputation as a reformer who has fought hard for the people of Illinois, and she will bring this same leadership to the national level by supporting commonsense policies that will safeguard public health and our planet,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “She supports tackling climate disruption by investing in clean energy technology and development that will create jobs in Illinois and around the country, and LCV Action Fund is pleased to endorse Ann Callis for Congress.”
“I am excited to have the LCV Action Fund endorsement in my race for Congress because I believe I can be a voice to create clean energy jobs in my district,” said Ann Callis. “I will always look to protect our environment and fight back against climate change. I look forward to bringing green jobs to our area and helping our region thrive.”
Callis will work to find commonsense solutions that will combat climate change. She supports increasing America’s investment to grow our clean energy industries like wind and solar, which will create good paying jobs that cannot be outsourced.
Callis has also been a vocal supporter of protecting the natural resources within her district. She has voiced strong opposition to allowing dangerous chemicals like PCBs into the Clinton Landfill, which sits atop the Mahomet Aquifer, the water source for more than 800,000 families in central Illinois. In Congress, she will continue to protect this and other natural resources for generations to come.
Ann Callis is featured on LCV Action Fund’s GiveGreen website the only bundling website devoted exclusively to raising money for environmental champions and candidates.
