LCV Action Fund Endorses Brendan Boyle for Congress

Oct 27, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Brendan Boyle for Congress (PA-13). Boyle is an environmental leader who will fight for action on climate change and protect Pennsylvania’s important natural habitats.

“Brendan Boyle is well equipped to build coalitions and find commonsense solutions that will reduce our nation’s reliance on the dirty fossil fuels that cause climate change,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “His impressive environmental record in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives makes him a crucial environmental ally who will, undoubtedly, be a strong voice for Pennsylvania’s prized natural landscapes.”

“Pennsylvanians can trust Brendan Boyle to keep our air, land and water safe,” said Josh McNeil, Executive Director of Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania (CVPA). “Representative Boyle has consistently voted to protect our environment in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and he will continue to fight for a cleaner commonwealth as a Member of Congress.”

“Taking serious strides toward a clean energy future, mitigating our impact on our environment and the effects of climate change must be a top priority for this generation of policymakers,” said Boyle. “The motivation to preserve and protect the world we live in must be a moral and economic imperative, as our children and our grandchildren will be the ones to live with the consequences of our actions.”

Since being elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2008, Brendan Boyle has proved himself a dependable environmental advocate. Not only did he earn a 100% rating on the Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania’s 2011-2012 Pennsylvania Marcellus Shale  Scorecard, but he is also a member of the “Green Dog” Caucus, a group of the most environmentally conscious legislators in the Pennsylvania House. As one of Philadelphia Daily News’ “top 10 rising stars” and an Aspen Institute Rodel Fellow, a program that selects young political leaders who show great potential, he holds great promise as an environmental champion, particularly because he recognizes the great threat climate change poses to our nation and has called for a comprehensive plan to tackle the problem. In Congress, Boyle will push for incentives to build the clean energy economy vital for Pennsylvania’s future.
