Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Dr. Hiral Tipirneni for Congress in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.

“As a doctor and cancer researcher, Dr. Hiral Tipirneni has firsthand knowledge of the importance of clean air and water,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “She recognizes the need to fight climate change and will fight to make Arizona a renewable energy leader while protecting its natural resources. We can count on Hiral Tipirneni to be a strong environmental ally in Congress and we’re thrilled to endorse her campaign.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement from the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund” said Hiral Tipirneni. “Our public lands and waterways are some of our greatest natural resources, especially here in Arizona. We should be doing everything we can to protect these amazing assets for future generations, not offering them up to the highest bidder. In Congress, I’ll work across the aisle to make sure Arizona’s air, water and land are maintained for all to enjoy.”

Dr. Hiral Tipirneni is an emergency room doctor and cancer researcher who understands the health and safety consequences of pollution on our children and families. She understands that Arizona should be at the forefront of fighting climate change, by investing in clean energy initiatives, especially solar and wind power, which will help grow the economy. Tipirneni is a proven problem-solver and fresh voice, and her priorities in Congress include strengthening public health protections and incentivizing the transition to renewable energy. If elected, she will be the only female physician serving in Congress.
