Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound conservation policies, announced today its endorsement of Kathleen Williams for Congress in Montana. Williams has also been endorsed by the federal political action committee of Montana Conservation Voters (MCV).

“LCV Action Fund is thrilled to endorse Kathleen Williams to represent Montana in the U.S. House. We know she will work alongside communities across the country to  advance strong protections for air, water, and public lands in Montana and across the country,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “From her work in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, Williams has been an ardent advocate for preserving the spaces that are so integral to Montana’s way of life. What’s more, Williams has also worked alongside Tribal communities across Montana to support their stewardship of the lands and water that are so integral to their culture and communities. We know that she will be a champion for conservation and climate action in Congress, and we are proud to support her in this important race.”

“Kathleen Williams has a long and established record of doing what’s right for Montana—for our climate, our clean air and water, and for our public lands—and we enthusiastically support her campaign to represent us all in Congress,” said MCV Executive Director Aaron Murphy. “We encourage all conservation voters to  throw their support behind Kathleen so we can send a Montana champion to Washington.”

“It’s our responsibility to leave a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations,” said Kathleen Williams. “I have spent my career working to protect our lands, waters, and communities. I’m honored to have LCV Action Fund’s endorsement and I look forward to getting real results in Congress and protecting what we love about Big Sky Country.”

Williams has dedicated her career to protecting our outdoors, particularly in water policy. She has worked in conservation in the public, non-profit, and private sectors. As a state legislator, she served on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committees, where she was a leader on water policy issues and received a 100 percent score every session from Montana Conservation Voters. She was a lead negotiator in quantifying the water rights of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, and served as Vice Chair of the Water Policy Interim Committee. In Congress, Williams will continue to be a champion for public lands, critical conservation protections, and climate action.
