WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Kelly Westlund for Congress (WI-7). Westlund will grow our clean energy economy, protect our environment, and fight for action on climate change. 

“With an extensive background promoting renewable energy and sustainability, Kelly Westlund is a crucial environmental ally who is committed to reducing our nation’s reliance on the dirty fossil fuels that cause climate change,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “She’s ready to build coalitions and find commonsense solutions that will enhance our clean energy economy and protect Wisconsin’s prized natural landscapes.”

Kelly Westlund has devoted much of her career to building sustainable communities.  As Executive Director for the Alliance for Sustainability, Westlund established a regional pilot project that, along with the State Office of Energy Independence, encouraged energy efficiency and renewable energy use. Additionally, she’s worked with Wisconsin towns and businesses to increase their day-to-day sustainability and reduce their waste.  Her continued focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency will not only fuel our clean energy economy but will also reduce our country’s reliance on the dirty fossil fuels that cause climate change.
