Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Mel Hall for Congress in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Mel Hall is committed to investing in Indiana’s clean energy future and addressing the climate crisis,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “Growing up on a farm, he saw firsthand why protecting the environment is critical to preserving our way of life and our economic success. Hoosiers can count on Mel Hall to stand up for their health and their future, and we are proud to endorse him for Congress.”

“I’m a data scientist, and to me the data could not be more clear: we must act now to protect our climate,” said Mel Hall. “I’m honored to have the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund on my team and I look forward to working with LCV in Congress to leave the world a cleaner place for future generations.”

Mel Hall was born and raised on his family’s farm near Marion, Indiana. Hall earned his bachelor’s degree from Taylor University and later got his PhD from the University of Notre Dame. After earning his undergraduate degree, he went to seminary and became a Methodist minister. Mel spent seven years serving Detroit’s poorest neighborhood, turning his church into a community center with job training programs, legal aid clinics, senior advocacy programs and a basketball league. Hall then pursued his PhD at Notre Dame after which he joined the patient survey company Press Ganey in South Bend as its 34th employee. He worked his way up to become President and CEO and then Chairman, growing the company to over 800 employees. In 2014, he became the CEO of the health care company SpecialtyCare. In Congress he will focus on clean air, clean water, and building Indiana’s clean energy economy.
