Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Scott Peters for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 50th Congressional District.
“Rep. Scott Peters has been a true champion for California’s coastline, action on the climate crisis, and protecting our democracy,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support him for reelection because we know he will continue to fight for a clean energy future, justice, and good-paying jobs for all communities.”
“I’ve led some of the most consequential climate bills enacted into law in the last decade, including to control methane leaks, reduce CO2 emissions, and eliminate hydrofluorocarbons,” said Rep. Scott Peters. “I’ll continue pushing for comprehensive, smart climate and energy solutions and I thank LCV Action Fund for the support.”
Rep. Scott Peters has been a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013. In Congress, Rep. Peters sits on the House Committee on Energy & Commerce and has been a champion for environmental protection and climate action. He has led efforts to build bipartisan support for transitioning to a clean energy economy in the House, including his “Climate Playbook”, which is a comprehensive list of legislation Congress can pass to take immediate action on climate change. Recently, Rep. Peters worked to secure federal funding to help update the Port of San Diego in an environmentally friendly way. Throughout his time in Congress, he has worked to advance climate adaptation and resiliency measures, encourage clean manufacturing, and reduce carbon emissions.

Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
