Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of TJ Cox for Congress in California’s 21st District.
“TJ Cox understands that a healthy environment and strong economy go hand-in-hand,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “His work to clean up the Central Valley’s air and water through economic development projects is exactly the kind of innovation and foresight we need in Washington. We are proud to endorse his campaign for Congress.”
“TJ Cox is a clean air champion for the Central Valley,” said California League of Conservation Voters Interim Executive Director Rebecca Saltzman. “His investments have created jobs and helped businesses grow while cutting emissions and improving air quality for Californians. We know that he will continue to fight for clean air and water in Congress and are excited to support his campaign.”
“I’m proud to be endorsed by LCV Action Fund,” said TJ Cox. “Environmental values are community values in the truest sense. In Congress, I will advocate to bring more green jobs to the Central Valley and create a sustainable economy for our rural communities.”
TJ Cox has been committed to sustainability and a cleaner environment for decades. In college, he started a small business that provided and installed home energy-saving devices. In 2011, Cox founded the Central Valley NMTC Fund (CVNF) to invest in socially and economically disadvantaged communities in California’s Central Valley. Through this organization, he has invested in improving air and water quality by funding an innovative biomass plant and helping to develop dairy digester projects to cut methane emissions and fight climate change. In Congress, Cox will continue to fight for a safer and healthier environment for all.
