Washington, D.C. – In anticipation of Hillary Clinton accepting the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld issued the following statement:
“In selecting Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party chose as their nominee for president a climate champion who will fight for a sustainable, just future. The choice facing voters this November could not be starker, and the stakes could not be higher. Our communities deserve a President who will prioritize clean air, clean water and access to open spaces no matter what your zip code is. We need a President who will tackle climate change head on and ensure America leads the transition to clean energy, creating good-paying jobs for all while protecting our health and our planet at the same time.”
“Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine understand we are stronger together – from working together with local communities to ensure a tragedy like the one in Flint never happens again to working together with our allies around the world to deliver on the landmark Paris Climate Agreement. LCV Action Fund is excited to do all we can to make history by electing Hillary Clinton as the 45th President of the United States.”
Earlier tonight, LCV’s President Gene Karpinski spoke at the Democratic National Convention, and here are his remarks.
