Today, League of Conservation Voters & LCV Education Fund (collectively “LCV”) and their employee union Washington-Baltimore News Guild, Local 32035, TNG-CWA, AFL-CIO ratified a new collective bargaining agreement. LCV recognized an employee union in 2019 and LCV’s first contract was ratified in 2020.
“LCV is proud to have a unionized staff and we are so excited to enter such a critical year for our work with a finalized contract that serves both our union employees and our mission to build political power for people and the planet,” said Margrete Strand, LCV Chief of Staff.
“We are thrilled to have ratified a collective bargaining agreement that builds on the strengths of the first contract and sets our staff up to thrive so we can fully achieve our work to elect climate champions and protect our environment,” said Rowel Leung, LCV Union Chair and Associate Manager of Major Gifts Coordination & Donor Stewardship. “Right now, employees at progressive organizations across the country are considering unionizing as a path to achieve better work-life balance and living wages. We are proud to have worked with LCV management to build a bold and innovative contract that sets a precedent for worker protections and competitive compensation packages.”
The contract runs through December 31st 2026 and is the second contract since the union was first formed.
