“Dirty Dozen” campaign to defeat Troy Jackson the biggest investment by an outside group

WASHINGTON – League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski tonight congratulates Emily Cain on her win in the Democratic primary in Maine’s 2nd Congressional district. LCV named Troy Jackson to their Dirty Dozen program last month, and the campaign was the biggest investment by an outside group in the race:

“Emily Cain’s victory is a big win for the environment and the people of Maine. She’s a fighter for Maine families, and was the only candidate in this race committed to tacking the climate crisis and taking on the polluters. The outcome tonight sends a strong message to candidates nationwide that siding with corporate polluters isn’t just bad policy, it’s bad politics.”
