LCV Congratulates Senator-elect James Talarico and Other Endorsed Texas Candidates

Nov 6, 2026

Washington, D.C. — The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Senator-elect James Talarico and Representatives Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), and Greg Casar (TX-37), and Representatives-elect Colin Allred (TX-33) and Johnny Garcia (TX-35) on their wins in Texas.

“Voters across Texas have made it clear: they reject Trump’s extreme and corrupt agenda and want leaders who will protect the health of our communities,” said LCV President Pete Maysmith. “Texans know firsthand the devastating costs of extreme weather and heat on communities, and the consequences when leaders fail to prioritize people and help Big Polluters and corporate interests profit instead. We are thrilled to congratulate Senator-elect James Talarico and this slate of pro-environment, pro-democracy representatives and look forward to working with them to protect clean air and water, free and fair elections, and advance affordable clean energy solutions.”

LCV Victory Fund invested $6.4 million to defeat Ken Paxton and elect James Talarico. The spending included digital ads focused on Ken Paxton’s corruption and prioritizing personal financial gain over the people of Texas. The ad highlighted his impeachment for obstruction of justice, bribery, disregard of official duty, misapplications of public resources, and conspiracy for using his office to help a donor and himself. In addition to digital advertising, LCV Victory Fund ran a large-scale on the ground organizing program through its joint super PAC with the United Steelworkers Union, New American Jobs Fund, and in partnership with the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC supporting James Talarico. The program knocked on over 865,000 doors from September through Election Day in Texas.

Environmental donors contributed $661,000 to Texas candidates via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised $28.8 million for the 2026 cycle.

These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in Texas, reaffirming that addressing the climate crisis and affordable clean energy solutions are winning issues for voters.
