Washington, D.C. — The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Senator-elect Troy Jackson and Representative Chellie Pingree (ME-01) on their wins in Maine.
“Congratulations to Troy Jackson and Chellie Pingree on their victories in Maine. With Mainers facing skyrocketing energy costs, these leaders understand the importance of protecting lands and waters, supporting good-paying clean energy jobs, and building clean energy to bring down utility bills,” said LCV President Pete Maysmith. “While Trump and MAGA Republicans put profits and Big Oil ahead of working families, Mainers chose leaders who will fight to protect communities from pollution and greedy, corrupt corporate interests.”
LCV Victory Fund invested $770,000 to elect Troy Jackson and defeat Dirty Dozen member Susan Collins. The spending included a 9-piece direct mail campaign focused on Susan Collins’ allegiance to President Trump and her votes in the Senate that have resulted in higher costs across the board for Maine residents, including for gas, home heating oil, and healthcare costs.
LCV’s GreenRoots member mobilization program turned out LCV members to volunteer for the Troy Jackson and Chellie Pingree campaigns as part of a nationwide field program to help elect environmental champions that drove over 32,500 volunteer shifts that turned out voters through 1,200,000 door knocks, phone calls, and letters.
Environmental donors contributed $848,000 to Maine candidates via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised $28.8 million for the 2026 cycle.
These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in Maine, reaffirming that addressing the climate crisis and affordable clean energy solutions are winning issues for voters.
