LCV Congratulates Tiernan Sittenfeld, new President & CEO of The National Parks Conservation Association

Sara Chieffo will succeed Sittenfeld as LCV’s SVP for Government Affairs

Washington, DC: Following today’s announcement that the National Parks Conservation Association has named Tiernan Sittenfeld as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, LCV (League of Conservation Voters)  announced that current VP for Government Affairs Sara Chieffo, will succeed Ms. Sittenfeld as Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and issued the following statement from LCV president, Pete Maysmith:

“Congratulations to the National Parks Conservation Association and to Tiernan! Over the last twenty years, Tiernan built an amazing team, established LCV as the environmental powerhouse on Capitol Hill and with several administrations, and has been a wonderful colleague and mentor to countless staff within LCV and throughout our movement. I cannot thank her enough for her leadership and the vital work she’s done over the years.”

“We are beyond excited that Sara Chieffo will be stepping up into the Senior Vice President role. For over sixteen years, Sara has been integral to making us the powerful organization we are. She is deeply respected throughout D.C. and throughout the movement. I am so excited to see her leadership expand in her new role overseeing our government affairs team.”

Sara Chieffo most recently served as LCV’s Vice President of Government Affairs where she advances LCV’s federal legislative and administrative goals with a focus on climate change and energy policy. Her work spans legislative strategy, executive branch advocacy, coalition-building, fundraising and communications. Sara’s background also includes non-profit fundraising, state legislative work, and electoral campaigns. Sara has been named numerous times to The Hill’s annual Top Lobbyists list and also serves on the boards for Protect Our Winters (POW) Action Fund and the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Alliance. Sara is a proud resident of Washington, D.C., where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
