WASHINGTON, DC – League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski released this statement following the retirement announcement from Congressman John Dingell, a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Congressman Dingell earned an impressive 93% score on LCV’s 2013 National Environmental Scorecard:

“John Dingell’s retirement is truly the end of an era. He’s played an integral role in enacting countless cornerstone environmental laws, from the Endangered Species Act, to the Clean Water Act, to the National Environmental Policy Act. He’s been an important voice on environmental priorities for decades as a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, and we’ll miss his leadership in Congress.”
